Can you believe it has taken this long. What is that you say? You can believe it?

I can explain, really I can. We have been spending so much time with the little one that we really haven't had any time to write about her. Plus we like to keep everyone in suspense about what is going on, we hope it worked.

Below you will find a collection of some new Violet pictures. Violet eating her toes, Violet eating her rubber ducky, Violet eating her toys, Violet eating...well, you get the idea. The world needs to pass through her mouth for it to have meaning. I guess she just has a strong taste for things.

So what has been happening these past few months you ask. Enough with the chit-chat, give us the details. At 7 months she is doing wonderfully. While she has been nursing a cold and a little bit of thrush over the past week she is very healthy. She is sitting on her own, rolling over (she doesn't really like to spend much time on her stomach; not enough things to see from that vantage point), eating some solid food (peas, avocado, rice cereal) and falling asleep on her own (ie. She doesn't need to be nursed, rocked or slung to sleep). That last one was a real amazing thing for Gen and me. It really didn't take her very long, and it is so cute to watch. She has a little fall asleep routine. Talk a bit, play/eat her luvy (a cloth frog), grab her feet, suck on the collar of her pajamas, and then.....As eyes droop....She falls asleep. Wonderful to watch.

With all these great growths, there is one that really stands out as the most delightful; her laughter. Watching her laugh, especially at things around her (the dogs, herself in the mirror, her parents) is such a joy to see. What makes her laugh the most, and has even produced many laughing fits, is other children. Her cousin Tayo, whom she simple adores, only had to be near her and bang a blanket up and down for her to crack up. That little giggle is unbelievably cute. Of course he knows when he has an audience and just keeps on doing it, putting her into a giggle fit. You can't say no to that. A group of children running around her in circles also caused her to completely break down into giggles recently.

As for Violet's parents, they are doing quite well. Gen has been be a fabulous mother and is sad about the idea of leaving her for the mornings when she starts to teach summer school in a month. I, on the other hand, look forward to the ending of school on June 14th, so I can be with her all the time. You know that work thing really gets in the way of my time with her. But that is the great thing about teaching. I will have many months every year to devote to her. And of course to the many house projects that I am committed to.

Oh, she is waking up. I have to run. Until next time.

Rob, Genevieve and Violet send their love.

"Concentrate....Concentrate...It will come to me...."
