Gen tries her hand a bloggin
Violet is now FIVE months old! I can't believe how quickly it has gone by and yet it feels like she has been in our lives forever. We love being with our little girl. She is such a happy, happy baby. She always wakes up with a smile on her face and lots to say.
The dogs continue to be a sure fire smile enhancer for Violet. The other night she saw Hank scratching his neck and she burst out into giggle fit. When Hank walked passed her, Violet immediately recognized the comedic genius of it all and she really busted a gut. We then saw Hank for what he really is -- a regular Steve Martin and we laughed along with her. Listening to her laugh and watching her develop her own sense of humor is quite thrilling. Everyday Violet's personality becomes more in focus for us and we love it!
Violet has become quite interested in the world beyond the boob. In fact, it is a struggle to keep her attention while she is feeding. If anyone is talking or moving in the room she pulls off to hang her head over her shoulder watch what is going on. Checking out the world upside is a new favorite pastime. She'll take a sip between pauses in conversation. And just when I start to get exasperated, she looks me in the eye and beams me a smile that helps me understand the point of all her research. She is a social little scientist and she is enjoying learning about her world.
One of her new accomplishments is standing in her exersaucer where she is captive to Stanley's kisses. My Grandma Yatteau would be horrified if she saw these public displays of affection, I have to admit it is a little much for me too. When Violet sees Stanley coming she smiles and turns towards Stanley and opens her mouth and sticks out her tongue. I am working on making their relationship a little more plutonic.
I could go on and on and so could Rob so we will be each other's captive audience so you will continue to be interested in our daughter. Here are some pics that show this month's Violet.
