a month later.....
Where does all the time go? A month has gone by already? Well, I'll stop talking about all the time I have lost and fill you in on the great human that we like to call Violet Frances...
Today she moved up from the size "small" Fuzzy Buns, to the size "medium". Our little girl is growing up. (Fuzzy Buns, for those of you who are a little behind the times on the whole diaper scene, are really great diapers that wick away all the moisture and clean without any bleach or other chemicals. We end up doing laundry every other day or so, but they work wonders).
She is a healthy sized little gal. about 3 weeks ago she weighed in at 16 pounds and 25 or 26 inches (I can't remember). Both of which are over the 100% mark for a girl her age. She has been really pretty healthy and almost always pretty content. Two weeks ago she laughed for the first time when Oma Betty was over (Gen unfortunately missed it) but then wouldn't repeat it for about 10 days. The next laughing session we actually got on video. You know, we have to preserve these things for later years.
She has also been getting a lot stronger. Just yesterday she pulled herself up into a sitting possition from a partially leaning back possition in Gen's lap. She is also getting some good coordination with her hands and is grabbing at things and of course bringing them straight for her mouth. All really great stuff. Isn't it too bad that we didn't all make these kinds of big leaps in growth our whole lives. I guess we would probably just sit around watching each other if we did. There is a lot to watch.
She still loves the changing table, long afternoon lunches attached to her mother, falling asleep in the sling, listening to American Lullaby music, going for walks and reading stories. A new interest has also become Stanley. They are becoming fast friends. In fact he was the third thing that she laughed at. Stanley was rolling on the floor with a plastic chew toy and she just started giggling. Her perception of the world is growing by leaps and bounds and she is really becoming a keen observer of the world.
Gen is doing much better thanks to time at home, great support from friends and family and a truly gifted, I MEAN TRULLY GIFTED, chiropractor. Thanks Judy.
Please enjoy the pictures of our little 4 month old.
Much love,
Rob, Genevieve, Violet, Stanley and Hank
